As clubs gear up for the new PSL season, several have already begun reshaping squads. With contracts expiring and early deals signed, here’s a breakdown of the standout PSL transfer window so far.

Orlando Pirates

In: Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou leads a wave of signings: midfielders Sipho Mbule (Sundowns) and Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch); attackers Yanela Mbuthuma (Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (AmaZulu), and Kamogelo Sebelebele (TS Galaxy); defensive recruits Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), as well as Abdoulaye S. Mariko (Djoliba AC), Oswin Appollis (Polokwane City) and Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka).

Out: Departures include veterans Innocent Maela, Miguel Timm; ex-Chiefs players Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane; plus Phillip Ndlondlo, Monnapule Saleng; Mohau Nkota, who moved to Al-Ettifaq and Azola Tshobeni.

Mamelodi Sundowns

In: No new signings yet.

Out: Major exits include Rivaldo Coetzee, Sipho Mbule (to Pirates), Lucas Suárez, Lebohang Maboe, Sifiso Ngobeni, Thabang Sibanyoni, and Sanele Tshabalala.

Kaizer Chiefs

In: Strengthening their spine with Ethan Chislett (Port Vale), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverca), Flávio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya), and defensive returns Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane (both from Pirates), plus winger Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport).

Out: Axed players include Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edmilson Dove, Njabulo Blom, Sabelo Radebe, and Ranga Chivaviro.

Durban City

In: Coach appointments include Trevor Mokwena and Gavin Hunt. Squad additions: goalkeeper Darren Keet, midfielder Brooklyn Poggenpoel, defender Liam de Kock, and attacker Fredrick Asare.

Out: Simo Dladla has departed as coach.

Siwelele FC

In: Lehlohonolo Seema (head coach) and Mark Williams (reserve coach) onboarded.

Out: Ime Okon (to Hannover 96), Terrence Dzvukamanja, Siphesihle Ndlovu (headed to Chiefs), and Bradley Grobler (to Sekhukhune United).

Stellenbosch FC

In: Promoted talent including Faiz Abrahams, Vuyolwethu Andrieas, Siviwe Nkwali (Cape Town Spurs), and Muzomuhle Khanyi (Hungry Lions).

Out: Departures: Sihle Nduli (Pirates), Brian Onyango, Liam de Kock, Shaakir Ahmed, Ismael Olivier Toure, Faiz Abrahams (to Hapoel Kfar Saba).

Sekhukhune United

In: Recruits include Wonderboy Makhubu, Bradley Grobler, Sphiwe Mahlangu, Miguel Timm, Ronaldo Maarman, Manuel Sapunga, Toaster Nsabata, Sydney Malivha, and Malekgene Mampuru.

Out: Several players exit, including Loydt Kazapua, Kamohelo Sithole, Miguel Dias, Katlego Otladisa (Pirates), Alves Ngakosso, Lindokuhle Mtshali, Sipho Mbule, and others.

Other Clubs

  • Richards Bay fortified with Gabadinho Mhango, Lindokuhle Mtshali, Thabani Zuke, and a host of local talent, but lost Mbuthuma and Ndaba to Pirates.
  • AmaZulu welcomed Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya and Simo Dladla.
  • Chippa United brought in new coach Sinethemba Badela and players Azola Tshobeni and Abdoulaye S. Mariko.
  • Marumo Gallants transitioned under coach Lafitte Alexandre with multiple outgoing players.
  • Lamontville Golden Arrows bolstered youth with several signings from Midlands Wanderers.
  • Orbit College and Cape Town City each made various squad refreshes too.
