We are back at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday so remember that all races are run around the turn and draws often play a major role in the outcome of races.
Candice Bass could be the trainer to follow at the course today as she has some promising runners and a number of them are well drawn.
She can hopefully get punters off to a winning start in Race 1, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1250m, where she sends out three-year-old filly Beautiful One. This daughter of One World has raced three times and has placed twice and finished fifth in the other.
She also appeared to be a little unlucky last time when a 4.25-length fourth behind Viva La Vida as she spread a shoe and was bumped in running. What is significant is that at least one runner in all of her races went on to win their next start.
Aldo Domeyer will have to put up 0.5kg overweight but and this is her first race around the turn. Nevertheless, she is well enough drawn in gate No 3.
There is little doubt she has the best exposed form of the raced runners but there are some decent well-bred first-timers who could give Beautiful One a run for her money so keep an eye open for any significant betting moves.
Bass runners should, however, dominate Race 3 where she sends out Beach Verse and Given To Fly in another Maiden Plate for fillies and mares, this time over 1500m.
Beach Verse is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Beach Bomb and finished 1.25-lengths ahead of Beautiful One when third two runs back, beaten three-lengths by Viva La Vida.
The latter is a promising filly who came out to win an ultra-competitive handicap straight after that. That form line looks quite strong for the field Beach Verse meets in Race 3, a 1500m Maiden Plate for Fillies and Mares.
While she has run two good races in a row over 1200m, Beach Verse, was always going to be looking for ground and she could now show her true potential.
Andrew Fortune takes the ride this time as Domeyer would have had to out up 1.5kg overweight.
Stablemate Given To Fly, who suits Domeyer with 60kg, looks next best and Swingers and Exactas could be the way to go.
