As the dust settles on another memorable season, a select group of performers stood head and shoulders above the rest. From dominant run-scorers to relentless wicket-takers, the SA20 Team of the Season honours those players who consistently delivered impact when it mattered most.

Quinton de Kock (Wk)

Arguably the season’s most consistent batter, de Kock finished as one of the league’s leading run-scorers, clocking up 390 runs at a blistering strike rate, earning him both the Player and Batter of the Tournament awards. His timing and experience at the top set the tone for Sunrisers Eastern Cape throughout the campaign.

Ryan Rickelton

A run machine for MI Cape Town, Rickelton’s 337 runs, including match-defining centuries, ensured he cemented his place as an opener in this XI.

Markram’s flexibility, batting anywhere from number 4 to opener, and his aggressive approach helped him amass over 300 runs at a superb strike rate, making him one of the driving forces of the Durban Super Giants’ season.

Dewald Brevis

The Pretoria Capitals’ young star backed up his reputation with 370+ runs, combining classy timing with power hitting. His contributions came in high-pressure situations, particularly in the late stages, and he scored a magnificent century in the final.

Jordan Hermann

The rising star from Sunrisers Eastern Cape turned heads with classy middle-order batting, scoring 273 runs with clutch innings, including a quickfire 62*.

Sherfane Rutherford

The West Indian import was a vital presence for Pretoria Capitals, posting 334 runs at a strike rate above 165 and consistently accelerating the innings when required.

Sikandar Raza

The Zimbabwean all-rounder delivered with both bat and ball, picking up 15 wickets while contributing crucial cameos in tight run chases.

Marco Jansen

One of the campaign’s standout bowlers, Jansen, finished with 13+ wickets at an excellent economy rate, and also chipped in with valuable lower-order runs when needed.

Nqobani Mokoena

The young quick made a major statement in his breakout season for Paarl Royals, finishing with 13 wickets and consistently troubling opposition batters with pace and bounce.

Anrich Nortje

A mainstay of Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s bowling attack, Nortje’s 18+ wickets included match-turning spells and valuable breakthroughs when his side needed them.

Ottniel Baartman

The tournament’s leading wicket-taker, Baartman, terrorised batting line-ups with 20 wickets and a hat-trick on his way to cementing a spot among the season’s elite bowlers.
