Trainer Dean Kannemeyer has started sending out his forward juveniles, last week we saw an impressive performance from smashing specimen Aristocratic and on Wednesday at Hollywoodbets Greyville we could see another of his regally bred individuals, Ms Sakura, come away with the win.
Ms Sakura was well supported on debut but the Vercingetorix filly, a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Summer Pudding among others, is bred for at least 2000m, got going late and ran out of time to reel in filly Dark Matter over 1200m.
She gave the impression she would keep getting better as she is upped in distance. She now gets to go 1400m in Race 2 and will be difficult to beat. She has also been given gate No 1 in this Maiden Plate for fillies and mares whereas late maturing improver Echo from Garth Puller’s yard, has drawn wide in gate No 9.

Another two-year-old, Pinetti, rates as the other best bet on the day. Pinetti is a bay son of Futura who runs for trainer Dennis Bosch in Race 1, also a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1400m, but open to both sexes.
Pinetti was beaten as odds-on favourite last time but 1000m appears to be too short for him. Pinetti is a full brother to Spelling Bee whose two wins were over 1400m and 1600m so we could see Pinetti’s up his game over1400m.
