Vaughan Marshall could be the man to follow at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.
The meeting comprises an 11-race card which includes two feature races for two-year-olds, the Grade 3 Langerman and the Listed Irridescence Stakes for fillies.
Due to the size of the meeting there are a number of betting options for punters, including two BiPots (Races 2 to 7 and Races 6 to 11) and three Jackpots (Races 1 to 4, Races 5 to 8 and Races 8 to 11).
Marshall has his stable in top form at the moment and he and jockey Gavin Lerena have been on a tremendous roll. They team up again in the Irridescence Stakes with Vercingetorix filly Ukuduma.
She has only run once, and it was an impressive performance by the debutante as she fought gamely to get up on the line to beat Ruby Rex by a short head. That was over 1200m and there is no question Ukuduma will love the extra 300m this time.
The form has been franked as third-placed Lowveld Lily, who is also in this race, came out to win easily next time out.
Richard Fourie has stuck with Lowveld Lily so one should expect a decent run from the daughter of Legislate.
Others to consider are Electromagnetism and She’s My World.
In the Grade 3 Langerman over 1500m Andrew Fortune could find himself back in the headlines aboard another feature-race winner in exciting Justin Snaith-trained colt Happy Verse.
This son of Vercingetorix is unbeaten in two starts and rapidly improving. He confirmed as much by confirming the promise of his 1200m debut success with a 1400m follow-up victory in open company, and the form of that race was given a timely boost by the subsequent win of runner-up Firingonallengines.
With Fortune maintaining the association and further progress expected of Happy Verse, the hat-trick beckons for the well-related colt in a competitive Langerman renewal that is dominated by the Snaith outfit, which is represented by four of the seven runners.
