Mjoka is on Track

Henk Steenkamp

“I will be back in the saddle soon.”

That was the positive response from injured jockey Mpumelelo Mjoka when he was asked about his recovery process.

Mjoka had a bad fall in the Listed Milkwood Stakes at Fairview May 23.

He underwent surgery for a fractured femur. Mpumi also injured his lower back.

The medical opinion was that the recovery period would be three to six months.

“The recovery process is still on track. I am in good spirits.

“I am getting there slowly, but I can move around.

“My final doctor’s appointment is next month and then I will take it from there.” Mjoka explained.
