Mamelodi Sundowns on the Brink of PSL Glory

Mamelodi Sundowns are just one point away from being officially crowned PSL champions. Following a dominant 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch at home, the Brazilians have all but secured their hold on the title, showcasing their trademark blend of skill, discipline, and consistency.

The Tshwane-based giants have been nearly unstoppable this season, boasting an impressive record of 22 wins, 1 draw, and only 3 losses. If they clinch the title, it will be their eighth consecutive league championship – a historic run dating back to 2017.

But Sundowns’ ambition doesn’t end there. They’re also making waves on the continental stage, having reached the final of the CAF Champions League after a hard-fought victory over Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly.

With 67 points already in the bag, Sundowns are on track to equal or surpass the 73-point record they set last season, when they became the final champions of the DStv Premiership before the league transitioned to its new Betway branding. 

Key to their success has been smart recruitment and a relentless drive for excellence. New signings like Lucas Ribeiro and Iqraam Rayners have lit up the league, with Ribeiro sitting on 13 goals and Rayners close behind with 9, both in contention for the Golden Boot.
