PSL 2025/26: Outright Winner Odds

The race for the 2025/26 PSL title gets underway this weekend, with the odds heavily backing defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns to claim a ninth consecutive crown. While the Brazilians are firm favourites, Orlando Pirates are tipped as the most likely challengers after another strong campaign. Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs round out the top four. Below are the top four odds-on favourites to win the 2025/26 PSL title.

Mamelodi Sundowns (1.40)

As reigning champions (having won it eight times in a row), Sundowns are arguably the most dominant club in the history of South African football. Their home record last season was flawless (14 wins out of 14 at Loftus), and their average goal difference topped the league by more than 30+. Their winning culture and squad depth justify their odds of 1.40.

Orlando Pirates (3.00)

Pirates are the firm second choice. With three straight second-place finishes and appearing in both domestic cup finals, they trailed Sundowns by 12 points in last season’s title race. Their squad continuity, bolstered by new recruits and a retooled strategy under a new coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, means they remain the closest rival to Sundowns. Their odds of 3.00 reflect persistent hope and a closer title race this season.

Kaizer Chiefs (17.00)

Despite winning the Nedbank Cup last season, Chiefs finished 9th in the league, confirming the disconnect between cup success and league consistency. Managerial stability and squad rebuilding are still a work in progress, making them a long shot for the title at 17.00.

Stellenbosch FC (19.00)

Stellies have surged in recent seasons, finishing 3rd in both 2023/24 and 2024/25. With CAF football on the horizon and a stable core under head coach Steve Barker, they look like a real dark-horse candidate, but achieving league glory seems unlikely.
