This week, France Football published the full list of nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or and its prestigious associated awards. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the gala ceremony on 22 September in Paris:

Men’s & Women’s Ballon d’Or
Men’s: 30 nominees headline a stellar field featuring stars like Ousmane Dembele (PSG, the treble winner), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), and Napoli’s standout, Scott McTominay.
Women’s: Arsenal dominate with five stars among the nominees, including Euro 2025 heroes Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, Lucy Bronze, and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas are also strong contenders.
Kopa Trophy (Best U21 Player)
Men: Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Desire Doue and Joao Neves (PSG), Pau Cubarsi (Barcelona), Myles Lewis‑Skelly (Arsenal), and others like Dean Huijsen (Real Madrid) make up a fierce junior roster.
Women: Young talents like Vicky Lopez (Barcelona), Linda Caicedo (Real Madrid), Michelle Agyemang, Wieke Kaptein, and Claudia Martínez Ovando round out the category.
Yashin Trophy (Best Goalkeeper)
Recognising the world’s best shot-stopper, nominees include Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa), the two-time reigning award winner, plus Alisson (Liverpool), David Raya (Arsenal), Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG), among others from elite clubs.
Coach of the Year (Johan Cruyff Trophy)
Men: Named candidates include Luis Enrique (PSG), Arne Slot (Liverpool), Antonio Conte (Tall order in Italy), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea).
Women: Nominees feature Sarina Wiegman (England), Sonia Bompastor (Chelsea), Renee Slegers (Arsenal), Justine Madugu (Nigeria).

Celebrates off-field impact and humanitarian work. The current holder, Jennifer Hermoso, was revealed as the 2024 recipient. Given alongside the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
