Adams’ rise was one of the great South African football success stories.
A product of Stellenbosch FC, he developed into one of the Premier Soccer League’s brightest midfielders before earning a move to Mamelodi Sundowns in 2025. There, he added another chapter to his career by helping the club lift the CAF Champions League and cementing his place in the Bafana Bafana squad.
At the FIFA World Cup, Adams featured in all three of South Africa’s group-stage matches against Mexico, Czechia and South Korea. His performances helped Bafana Bafana progress to the knockout stages for the first time before they were eliminated by Canada in the Round of 32, a match he missed.
Beyond his ability on the pitch, Adams will be remembered for his humility, professionalism and dedication to South African football.
