The PSL continues on Wednesday evening with four fixtures and several intriguing betting opportunities as the early-season table begins to take shape. So, where can bettors find the best value bets?

Mamelodi Sundowns host AmaZulu in arguably the standout game of the night, with both clubs entering Matchday 4 on seven points. Kaizer Chiefs are also sitting on seven points ahead of their trip to Richards Bay, while Golden Arrows return to league action just three days after producing a major MTN8 upset against Sundowns.
Polokwane City and newly promoted Milford complete Wednesday’s programme, with all four fixtures scheduled to kick off at 19:30 SAST.
Mamelodi Sundowns vs AmaZulu
This looks considerably more interesting than the match odds initially suggest.
Sundowns are overwhelming favourites, with the Brazilians priced around 1.31 for the victory compared with 4.80 for the draw and 8.65 for an AmaZulu upset.
Backing Sundowns at such a short price isn’t particularly appealing, though.
They come into Wednesday’s game following a surprise 1-0 MTN8 semi-final first-leg defeat to Golden Arrows on Sunday. Sundowns dominated large periods of that contest but couldn’t find an equaliser despite making several attacking changes during the second half.
Their league position remains strong. Sundowns have seven points from their opening three Premiership matches, putting them level with AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs heading into this round.
AmaZulu shouldn’t be dismissed lightly either. Usuthu beat Siwelele 2-0 in their most recent league outing and have already collected seven points.
The problem is their record in this particular matchup. Sundowns are unbeaten in the last eight meetings between the teams, while AmaZulu failed to score in each of the previous six encounters highlighted in the available head-to-head data.
That makes the Sundowns win the obvious prediction, but there may be a better way into the game than accepting the very short 1X2 price.
Prediction: Mamelodi Sundowns to win at 1.31.
Best Bet: Mamelodi Sundowns to win to nil 1.93.
Golden Arrows vs Stellenbosch FC
If you’re looking for a potentially tight game, this is probably the first fixture to consider.
Golden Arrows produced one of the biggest results of the weekend when they travelled to Sundowns and secured a 1-0 MTN8 semi-final first-leg victory, with Sede Junior Dion scoring the decisive goal.
Their league matches have followed a similar pattern.
All three of Arrows’ Premiership fixtures this season have finished without both teams scoring, while six of the previous 10 meetings between Arrows and Stellenbosch produced fewer than 2.5 goals.
Stellenbosch are capable of making this much more complicated.
They recorded a 3-1 victory over Marumo Gallants in their previous league fixture and have demonstrated considerably more attacking threat recently. At the same time, Stellies are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season.
The match-winner market reflects just how difficult the game is to call. Current prices have Arrows around 2.57, Stellenbosch at 2.90 and the draw at approximately 2.80. Under 2.5 goals, meanwhile, is priced around 1.43.
Rather than attempting to separate two closely matched teams, the goals market looks safer.
Prediction: Draw at 1.80,
Best Bet: Under 2.5 total goals at 1.43.
Richards Bay FC vs Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs have made an encouraging start to the new Premiership season.
Amakhosi collected seven points from their first three games, beating Kruger United and Sekhukhune United before drawing 1-1 with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Richards Bay have found victories considerably harder to come by.
The Natal Rich Boyz enter Wednesday still looking for their first league win of the campaign, having collected just two points from their opening three fixtures.
There is also an important venue change for bettors to note. The game was originally scheduled elsewhere but will now take place at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, with kick-off remaining at 19:30.
Chiefs are at 2.00 to collect all three points, with Richards Bay around 3.90 and the draw at 2.90. The market also expects another relatively low-scoring Premiership game, with Under 2.5 goals trading around 1.39.
At even-money territory, Chiefs are far more interesting than some of Wednesday’s shorter favourites.
Their unbeaten opening provides reason for optimism, and Richards Bay haven’t yet shown enough to justify opposing Amakhosi at this price.
Prediction: Kaizer Chiefs to win at 2.00.
Best Bet: Kaizer Chiefs to win & under 2.5 total goals at 3.25.
Polokwane City vs Milford FC
This could be Wednesday’s most difficult game to assess.
Polokwane City are favourites at around 2.05, with the draw available at approximately 2.87 and Milford at 3.80.
Milford have already demonstrated that they shouldn’t simply be treated as relegation fodder. They defeated Kruger United 2-1 earlier this month, while Polokwane suffered a 2-0 defeat against Sekhukhune United in their previous listed league result.
That makes Polokwane difficult to trust at a relatively short price.
The goals market may offer a better solution.
Under 2.5 goals is currently around 1.37, while both teams not to score is approximately 1.53.
Polokwane’s home advantage gives them a slight edge, but this doesn’t look like a fixture in which taking the outright favourite is essential.
Prediction: Polokwane City to win at 2.05.
Best Bet: BTTS – No at 1.53.
