Orlando Pirates’ remarkable 2025/26 campaign received the recognition it deserved on Monday night as the Buccaneers dominated the PSL Awards, collecting the majority of the evening’s biggest honours.

Fresh off a historic domestic treble and their first PSL title since 2012, Pirates were the standout club at the virtual ceremony, with Relebohile Mofokeng emerging as the night’s biggest winner. The 21-year-old capped a sensational season by collecting three of the most prestigious individual awards, underlining his status as one of South African football’s brightest stars.

Mofokeng walked away with the Footballer of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards after playing a starring role in Orlando Pirates’ league triumph. The talented midfielder’s creativity, consistency and ability to deliver in the biggest matches made him the overwhelming choice among coaches and fellow professionals alike.

Having recently secured a move to Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, Mofokeng leaves South African football on the highest possible note, with an awards haul that reflects just how influential he was throughout the campaign.

The officials were also honoured, with Eugene Mdluli receiving the Referee of the Year award and Nandipha Menze recognised as Assistant Referee of the Season.
