Cricket South Africa have announced a 15-man squad for their two-Test series in India, commencing on 14 November in Kolkata and continuing in Guwahati from 22 November. Temba Bavuma returns from injury to reclaim the captaincy, while head coach Shukri Conrad has kept faith in the group that battled back to draw against Pakistan in recent weeks. With a demanding Indian tour ahead, the Proteas are banking on experience, resilience, and a stable core to build momentum.

Continuity & Stability
South Africa’s selection signals clear intent: minimal disruption and maximum trust in the squad that showed character on the Pakistan tour. Bavuma returns to lead after recovering from a calf strain, replacing David Bedingham. “We are anticipating a similar challenge in India, and many of the players who stood up in those conditions will once again be key,” Conrad remarked.
With 14 of the 15 squad members also featuring in the Pakistan campaign, the emphasis is on continuity rather than wholesale change. The selectors have clearly backed their established performers to step into the harsh Indian conditions and deliver.
