Mikel Arteta’s side will enter the contest as overwhelming favourites after ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League title last season. Coventry, meanwhile, return to the top flight for the first time in 25 years after winning the Championship under Frank Lampard.

The obvious starting point is an Arsenal victory. The champions have home advantage, considerably greater squad depth and enter the match off the back of a statement win over Manchester City.
Coventry deserve plenty of credit for their Championship triumph, but losing Wright makes an already difficult attacking assignment even tougher. Arsenal should have enough control and creativity to eventually overwhelm the visitors.
