SA20 Fixtures Announced As Cape Town Set To Host Season Five Final

The countdown to another blockbuster SA20 season is officially on after the fixtures for the 2027 campaign were unveiled.

Season five will begin on 17 January 2027, with defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape taking on Pretoria Capitals at St George’s Park in Gqeberha in a repeat of last season’s thrilling final. The tournament will culminate at one of cricket’s most iconic venues, with Newlands in Cape Town once again hosting the final on 21 February 2027.

Champions Kick Off The New Season

There could hardly be a more fitting way to launch the new campaign.

Three time champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape will begin the defence of their crown against Pretoria Capitals, the side they defeated in last season’s final. The opening clash promises to reignite one of the competition’s newest rivalries as both teams look to make an early statement.

The six franchises will once again contest a double round robin format before the playoffs determine who lifts the trophy in February. Four double header matchdays have also been included in the schedule, giving supporters even more action throughout the tournament.
